I was born in Kisumu, Kenya, and first worked as a farmer. Then six years ago I became a schoolteacher at Mudhiero Primary School in Siaya county. In 2020, shortly after I met Nancy Strachan, Nancy helped me purchase mosquito nets for my family and told me about permagardens.

I started permagardens at my home and school, which had fantastic results— read more about that here.

I have literally had a dream where I helped every family in the world cultivate permagardens which hugely improved food security. I decided to pursue that dream not only through permagardens but also by launching The School Fruity Garden, which provides fruit trees to schools to help reduce malnutrition, as fruits are the major provider of vitamins (vegetables also provide vitamins but are mainly rich in minerals).

In June 2024, I met David Albert via Equatorial Voices Network. David was impressed with the work I had done and proposed that we work together to start a permagardens organization to reduce malnutrition around the globe.

That’s how it all started, and now I feel we are crossing major milestones in our work in The Permagardens Foundation.
